Fed pain like blisters through a straw
a stroke waiting to surprise the unconscious
dragging the silver scales through the mud
a summary execution a summary criminal
Trading scars like drinks
over ancient wooden tables made some ten years ago
swift scarlet markings of the nights
that died on everyone’s lips
These catastrophes that both are and are not
recorded
are recorded but never brought to the surface
the signs left in the ditch…
