Digging to get out of the shallowness of superficiality

Shallow, super/artificial, and endlessly consuming. Not that my “materialism” extended to collecting a lot of objects; in my entire life, I have spent more of my money on books and education than on anything else. But it was as consuming as those tendencies I had to drink as much beer as I could (could afford) for almost my entire 20s.
